Cookie Policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
This policy explains how octomize-agency.com uses cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels and local storage), how we ask for your permission, and how you can change your choice at any time.
How we ask for your consent
The rules for cookies differ from country to country, so the site follows the law of the country you visit from. Where the law is unclear, or we can't tell where you are, we apply the strictest rules.
EU, UK, Switzerland and most other countries: we ask first
This covers the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, the UK, Switzerland, the Canadian province of Quebec, and every country not listed in the next section. Only necessary cookies run until you make a choice. When you first visit, a banner asks for your permission:
- Accept all allows statistics and marketing cookies.
- Reject all keeps only the necessary ones. It's just as easy as accepting, and the site works the same either way.
- Customize lets you choose each category separately. Nothing is switched on in advance.
We ask again after 6 months, so your choice stays current.
USA, Canada (outside Quebec), Australia, New Zealand, Japan and India: you can opt out
The law in these countries allows statistics and marketing cookies to run by default, provided you're told and can opt out easily. A short notice appears on your first visit, and you can switch either category off at any time from the link in the footer. Visitors from India will be asked for consent first from 13 May 2027, when India's new data protection rules take effect.
How we know which country you're visiting from
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, tells the site which country your visit comes from, based on your IP address. We use this only to choose the right rules. We don't store your IP address.
Cookie categories
- Necessary. These keep the site working and remember your cookie choice. They're always on, and the law doesn't require consent for them.
- Statistics. These give us anonymous visit statistics so we can improve the site (for example Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity).
- Marketing. These measure which of our ads lead to enquiries and help show relevant ads (for example Google Ads or Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram).
We don't set any preference cookies. Statistics and marketing tools only load once your choice allows them.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
You can change your mind at any time. Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page, or the button at the top of this page. In the opt-out countries the footer link is calledYour privacy choices, and in the USA Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. When you switch a category off, we delete its cookies and reload the page, so those tools stop straight away.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, the cookie banner will appear again on your next visit.
Global Privacy Control
Some browsers and extensions send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which tells websites you don't want your personal information sold or shared. Where you can opt out, we treat this signal as an opt-out of marketing cookies: they stay off, and the cookie settings show that the signal was received. You don't need to do anything else.
Your rights if you live in the USA
Under US state privacy laws (for example in California), marketing cookies that measure and target ads can count as "selling" or "sharing" personal information. You can opt out at any time with theDo Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the footer, or automatically with Global Privacy Control. We won't treat you differently for opting out.
Records of your choice
The law requires us to be able to show that consent was given. When you make a choice, we keep a record of it, containing:
- a random ID that isn't linked to your name, email or IP address
- which categories you allowed
- the version of the banner you saw
- which set of rules applied
- your country
- the date and time
We keep these records for about 13 months, then they're deleted automatically. The same random ID is stored in the octomize_consent cookie, which remembers your choice for 12 months.
